On March 13, 1944 A.C. Pinckley, Leslie G. Thomas, Homer Daniel, Granvill W. Tyler, R.C. White, Ernestine Wyatt, Ralph Wharton, Ernest Clevenger, Sr., and Conrad Bates met to discuss the advisability of starting a Christian School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their dream came to fruition on May 12, 1952, with the establishment of Chattanooga Bible School. The 2003-2004 achademic year marks the fiftieth anniversary of that beginning, and Educating for Eternity gives evidence of the success which it has become.

This book is a tribute to all those who have participated in the history of the institution that evolved into Boyd-Buchannan. The vast collection of material from which the text is drawn was painstakingly retrieved, assembled, recreated, compiled and archived by Linda Kelley. She devoted years to the task which included hundreds of hours conducting taped interviews and transcribing the results. The entire staff's care and commitment to the project has resulted in a truly remarkable compendium of valuable information.
